Hola, my name is Guero . I am self appointed controller of the marina Escala Nautica Fonatur in Guaymas. I am about two years old and I am born and raised in the streets of Guaymas. One afternoon, while I was busy making sure all was in order at the Marina, I saw this rather nice sailing boat named Wahkuna sailed into the harbor. I went to check that they docked safely and to inquiry if they has any tit bits they needed me to deal with. I was particularly pleased to meet the lovely French girl as we immediately seemed to be on the same wave length and I soon learned to manipulate her affection to take charge of the boat. I also really connected with the Irish man, we seemed to have the same liking of relaxing in the afternoon.

Je m’appelle Güero. Je suis le côntroleur attitré de l’Escala Nautica Fornature de la ville de Guaymas. Je suis né et j’ai grandi dans les rues de Guaymas. Une après midi, alors que je m’assurais que tout soit en ordre dans la marina, voilà qui arrive ce jolie bateau nommé Wahkuna. Je me suis empressé d’aller voir s’il accostait correctement et si l’équipage avait quelques petits morceaux de n’importe qui que je pouvais manger. J’ai été tout de suite enchanté de faire la connaissance de la gentille fille français, nous avons tout de suite été sur la même longueur d’onde. Et avec l’Irlandais, nous nous sommes immédiatement bien entendu et nous partageons la même appréciation de la relaxation l’après midi.

Hola, me llamo Güero y soy el Controlador de la Escala Náutica Fornatur en la ciudad de Guaymas. Nací y crecí en las calles de Guaymas. Una atardecer, cuando andaba verificando que todo estaba en orden, me llamé la atención la llegada de un bonito velero llamado Wahkuna. Me apuré a ver si atracaban correctamente y si el equipaje tenía algunas cositas que comer. Encontré inmediatamente la amable Francesa con quien tuve una conexión. Y también el Irlandés me tocó bien, especialmente porque ambos nos gustaba relajar durante los atardeceres.

I offered my service as security guard and soon took up comfortable quarter in the cockpit of the boat. I also managed to come to an arrangement to get nice dog food and little steak bits for my conscientious efforts. Soon, I was rewarded with my first toy and some delicious treats. I had a great time playing with the French girl and enjoy keeping company to the Irish man, late at night, while he was playing guitar or Sudoku.

J’ai offert mes services comme chien de garde et j’ai rapidement pris mon carré dans le confortable cockpit. J’ai aussi réussi à arranger de la bonne soupe et des morceaux de steak en échange de mes efforts consciencieux. J’ai rapidement reçu mon premier jouet et des délicieuses gâteries. Je me suis bien amusé à jouer avec la Française et j’ai apprécié tenir compagnie à l’Irlandais tard le soir alors qu’il jouait de la guitare ou au Sudoku.

Offrecí mis servicios como perro de guardia y me encontré rápidamente cómodo en la bañera. También alcancé a tener buena comida y algunos pesaditos de carne asada en cambio por mis esfuerzos. Me regalaron my primer juguete y varias golosinas. Me divertí mucho con la Francesa y me gustó tener compañía al Irlandés por la noche cuando él tocaba la guitarra o jugaba al Sudoku.

During the days, both the crew on this boat were quite busy. The French girl was reorganizing cupboards and storage space, cleaning and tiding. The Irish man worked the water maker motor and the autopilot transistor. They also were doing quite a lot of running around getting some of their belongings shipped back to Ireland.

Pendant la journée, l’équipage de Wahkuna était souvent occupé. La Française a nettoyé, organisé et rangé tous les placards. L’Irlandais a travaillé sur le moteur du déssalinsisateur et le transistor de l’auto pilote. Ils ont été aussi assez pris avec le rapatriement de certaines de leurs affaires en Irlande.

Durante el día, el equipaje del Wahkuna fue muy ocupado. La Francesa limpió, organizó y arregló el velero. El Irlandés trabajó sobre el motor de la potabilizadora y el transistor del auto pilote. También fueron ocupados a exportar algunas cosas de menaje de casa por Irlanda.

But Wahkuna also invited me to their impromptu parties, where I met some really nice cruiser dogs, Buddy, Bean and Mika. We managed to get along after I established that they were guests on my boat.

Mais Wahkuna m’a aussi convié à ces fêtes impromptues au court desquelles j’ai fait la rencontre d’autres chiens croisiéristes: Buddy, Bean et Mika. Nous nous sommes bien entendu, une fois que j’ai mis au clair que c’était mon bateau.

Pero Wahkuna también me invitó a sus fiestas durante las cuales encontré otros peros cruceros como Buddy, Bean y Mika. Nos encontrábamos bien, al momento que hizo claro que Wahkuna era mi velero.

One night, Wahkuna’s crew went out. hey did not take me off course as I have never been in a car and I do not fancy going in one, but they told me that they were going to celebrate their first anniversary. They surely looked both very nice that night.

Un soir, l’équipage de Wahkuna est sorti. Je ne suis pas allé avec eux car je ne suis jamais monté dans une voiture et je ne le souhaitais pas. Mais ils m’ont dit qu’ils allaient  célébrer leur premier anniversaire de mariage. Ils étaient certainement très beaux ce soir-là.

Una noche el equipage del Wahkuna salió por un restaurante. Me direron que no podía venir con ellos, pero no me importaba porque a mí no me tocaba subir en su automobile. Ellos me dieron que iban a celebrar su primer aniversario. Cierto que ellos eran muy guapos esa noche.

One thing the French girl did for me was giving regular baths, which made me look really pretty and this improved my good fortunes with the ladies around the Marina, with whom I had to share my favors for a couple of nights, before returning quite tired and not as clean as when I left. But that was OK, the French girl gave me another bath and took care of my wounds when I came back, which was quite nice since that had never happened before. For the rest of the day, I got to rest the whole day in a nice, breezy cockpit.

Une des choses que la Française a fait est de me donner régulièrement des bains. Bien entendu, je n’ai pas trop aimé au départ, mais non seulement ils me soulageaient de la chaleur, ils m’ont permis d’accroître ma chance avec les filles autour de la Marina avec qui j’ai dû partager mes faveurs pendant deux nuits. Bien entendu, je suis revenu au bercail, un peu fatigué et beaucoup moins propre que je n’étais parti. Mais cela n’était pas grave car la Française m’a redonné un bain et chose qui ne m’était jamais arrivée, elle a soigné mes morsures. Une fois fini, j’ai pu me reposer toute la journée dans le confort du cockpit.

Una de las cosas que la Francesa hizo para mí, fue de darme baños frecuentemente. Claro que al principio, no me gustó pero no solamente me permitían soportar mejor el calor pero también aumentó mis éxitos con las chicas alrededor de Guaymas. Tuve que visitarlas durante dos días y claro que regresé un poco cansado y menos limpio, pero no importó porque la Francesa me dio de nuevo un baño y atendió my daños, algo que nadie había hecho antes para mí. Una vez terminado, pudo descansar todo el día en el confort la bañera.

Some things that were as nice on Wahkuna were the ice cub, I really liked them and that the captain installed a temporary AC unit over the forward hatch which was very welcome since it also blew a cool draft for me in the cockpit.

Il y a beaucoup de schose qui étaient aussi vraiment agréable sur Wahkuna,  les glacons que j’adore et que le capitaine ait installé une unité d’air conditionné sur l’ouverture de la couchette de devant du bateau ce qui envoyait une brise fraîche jusque dans le cockpit. J’en ai amplement profité.

Hubo también algo muy agradable sobre el Wahkuna, fue que el Capitán instaló una unidad de aire acondicionado que soplaba una brisa fresca hasta la bañera. Disfruté de eso lo maximo que pude.

Like most of the boats in my marina, they often end up being parked for a few months in dry storage and one morning, I woke up to find that Wahkuna was now out of the water and securely tucked away in the dry yard for the duration of the hurricane season. I was no longer able to get on the boat, but the French and Irish sailors kept on giving me some food, bath and affection. They also left a 15 kg bag of dog food to my friends the guards, for me to have over the summer. Althought, I am more of a tacos/roasted chicken kind of guy, this food will be welcome when nobody is around.

Comme la plupart de bateaux dans ma marina, ils finissent souvent par être sortis de l’eau pour être mis au sec pendant la saison des cyclones et un beau matin, j’ai retrouvé Wahkuna au sec. Bien entendu, je ne pouvais plus venir à bord car je ne monte pas les échelles, mais l’équipage a continué à me donner à manger, me soigner et me chouchouter jusqu’à leur départ. Ils ont aussi laissé un énorme sac de 15kg de nourriture et bien que je préfère les tacos ou le poulet grillé, je ne serai pas fâché de pouvoir me mettre quelque chose sous la dent à la Marina.

Como la mayoría de las embarcaciones en mi marina, se sacan por la Marina Seca para que sean a fuera del agua por la temporada de los huracanes. Y una mañana, encontré al Wahkuna en la Marina Seca. Claro que ahora no podía subir adentro del velero, pero sin embargo el equipaje continuó a cuidarme, jugando conmigo, dándome comida y atención. También dejó una bolsa de comida seca de 15 kg con mis amigos los guardianes. Y a pesar que me gustan más los tacos y el pollo asado, será bien de tener algo que comer cuando no alcanzara a encontrar otra comida.

The French girl has her 40th birthday while she was in my care and for the occasion, I gave her an extra slobbery kiss to celebrate. Well, the nice crew is gone for the summer. I will certainly miss them and I know that they will miss me. But they will be back in the fall and I will be waiting for them. In the meantime, I will be keeping an eye on their boat and will get back to hard work of keeping the ladies in Guaymas satisfied.

La Française a célébré son 40ème anniversaire à la Marina et pour marquer l’occasion je n’ai pas manqué de lui donner une grosse lampée bien baveuse! Mes amis sont maintenant partis pour l’été. Bien entendu, il vont me manquer et je sais que je vais leur manquer. Mais je sais qu’ils seront de retour après la grosse chaleur et en attendant je garderai un œil sur leur bateau, tout en gardant mon agenda très occupé avec les filles de Guaymas.

La Francesa tuve su 40 cumpleaños en la Marina y para celebrar la ocasión, le di un beso muy mojado. Ahora se fueron mis amigos por el verano. Claro que les voy a extrañar y sé que ellos también van a extrañarme. Pero sé que regresarán después del calor y voy a cuidar a su velero, esperándolos mientras que por supuesto guardaré mis calendario muy ocupado con las chicas de Guaymas.
